These are pictures that were taken on a trip to Nova Scotia. We went out for Sarah's Nanny's 90th birthday, and brought the dogs with us. Some might argue that it's a lot more to manage, but in many ways, we'd just rather have them with us. I hope that these pictures help explain why we feel that way.
This was the trip where I got to meet my neice, Emma, for the first time. Sarah had already met her when Emma was much younger. That was a lot of fun, and fascinating to see how blasé she is around dogs bigger than she is. But I guess that to her, they are just dogs, and she is definitely used to dogs.
The reason for the trip was to celebrate Sarah's Nanny's birthday, who was turning 90 years old. She had already met Kitty and Deco, but this was the first time that she met Danforth. She seemed nonplussed.
At the hotel that we stayed at, The Comfort Inn in Bedford, they have a great trail in behind the building, and we really liked taking the dogs for walks out back, and letting them romp around. They enjoyed sniffing the world, playing with branches, drinking from the stream, and just horsing around. I wonder if I should say "horsing around", since it's natural to compare Great Danes to horses, Danforth especially. Ah well. We now love going back to this hotel, just because they are accomodating to the dogs, and the trail makes it that much better.
